Eco-friendly, romantic, terrific. That’s how I can describe this unique wedding that took place at Lake House at Bulow.  Situated at the island in the middle of a beautiful lake within a short drive to historic Charleston, this venue features charming natural views. A light breeze, gentle sun, rays that reflect from the water and a beautiful unforgettable atmosphere of nature surrounds this place. This pearl of Charleston’s land is perfect for a wedding photo session.

Belinda picked navy, green, sandy and white natural flowers from Southern blooms crafted out of wooden. Each color is a tribute to the nature’s beauty – navy as water color, green as nature, dark sandy for wood and white for the clouds. The bride also had a wedding hair pin made out of feathers and the grooms party had eco-friendly lapel pins.

They planned their First Look on the walk way next to the lake, which made outstanding mirror background and looked like no one on this planet could disturb them, just the couple and peaceful nature.

Belinda and Andy’s wedding is an eco-friendly masterpiece. They picked The Lake House at Bulow as their wedding venue being inspired by this beauty, besides they love to support county parks. The lake and the house, nice wood bridges and of course the island for the ceremony. During the wedding ceremony they planted a tree as the symbol of their eternal love, which everybody found very moving and extraordinary.

My absolutely favorite details from this Charleston photography was the wooden rings. Andy’s ring was made by The Heart Wood co, US family owned business, and Belinda’s was made in France by Creations Boiseesfr.

Love to the nature is their passion. “In 2012 we were both environmental educators at Jekyll Island 4-H Center and met on our first day of training and orientation. I sat next to Belinda on the morning of our first day and we talked about Chicago and Chicago sports after finding out she was from that area. My grandmother is from Chicago so I had a connection to that city as well and grew up a Chicago sports fan. We had a lot in common and even lived beside each other that year. The more I got to know her, the more I liked her,” – that’s what Andy said about their first meeting.

They have been together for 6 years already, and their love and common interests only become stronger. “I love that Andy makes me a better person. I constantly learn from him every day, he is so intelligent, but not pretentious about answering my questions about even the most basic things he knows-and I can promise I ask a lot of 4th grade level history questions since moving to the very historic Charleston area! He supports every one of my hopes and  dreams  – from wanting to get tacos at midnight to going back to school to earn my PhD. He is my biggest cheerleader and tells me he is proud of me, which is so incredibly special to me. Oh, and he is hilarious–not everyone always gets to see it, because he can be reserved when someone first meets him, but I’m never not laughing when we are at home sitting on the couch! ” – the way Belinda describes Andy.

It was an absolute pleasure to serve Belinda, Andy, and their families and friends on such an important day in their lives. I wish them a wonderful life together! It really was the perfect start to 2020.
