I was a wedding photographer at Magnolia Plantation, taking photos of Shayne & John’s wedding. And I was jealous of myself. This was an extraordinarily beautiful and impressive wedding, as well as the story of this couple. Two years ago they met each other by lucky coincidence. Shayne was going to have a date with the guy from a dating website. They were supposed to meet at the farmers’ market. At the same time John’s flight got canceled. He’s a pilot. So he grabbed his friends and went to the farmers’ market. As John said: “All of us were in the right place at the right time”. Shayne came to John, as she was sure he was the guy from the dating website. Imagine how shocked she was when it was found John was not that guy. Anyway, they exchanged phone numbers and met again in the evening. They started dating and soon realized they were meant for each other.

However, when John decided to pop up the question, he faced a dilemma. Shayne never wore any jewelry, so he had no idea what kind of ring to buy. John made a wise decision and photographed using a very good camera. They could use this camera during their Ecuador trip. The proposal day was also full of surprises. They walked their dogs in the morning. John planned to propose during the walk on the beach. He was totally ready but suddenly Jasper (a lovely dog) slipped a leash and ran across the beach. Anyway John proposed and Shayne said yes, shedding tears of happiness.

This amazing Magnolia Plantation wedding took place on April 3, 2021. It was the azalea blooming period, so all gardens were full of pink, white and red flowers. It was a perfect time for a wedding and an absolute dream for any photographer! The wedding color palette consisted of dusty blue and green, featured by vibrant blue, as it was the couple’s favorite color. Being a Magnolia wedding photographer, I adored this color palette in photos.

Shayne was the real treasure of the wedding. She painted the bottom of her dress and made a matching decoration for the shoes. John wore a dark blue outfit with a fancy shirt and a pilot pin.

The wedding was mind-blowing. The newlyweds tied the knot among the blooming azaleas surrounded by the magnificent century-old trees. It was an outdoor ceremony. The spacious dance floor was decorated with lanterns. It looked like a fairytale in the night. There were a lot of guests. As a Charleston wedding photographer I was proud to be a part of this wonderful day. The weather was very good; thus we took a bunch of amazing photos. I was also pleased to work with a team of professional vendors. All guests had a lot of fun and sincerely congratulated the newlyweds. Me, Magnolia wedding photographer, was happy to join these congratulations.
