Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing many love stories at some of Charleston’s most picturesque locations. One session that stands out is my time with the incredible couple, Emily and Megan, at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. The historic beauty of the gardens provided the perfect setting for their engagement photos, but it was their unique bond and heartfelt connection that truly made this session unforgettable.

Emily and Megan’s love story began in an unexpected place — the Army. They first met while preparing for deployment overseas. As they tell it, their friendship was immediate, and there was an undeniable connection between them from the start. What began as a close bond grew into a partnership, and now, nearly three years later, they can’t imagine life without each other. Their story is a testament to how love can blossom in even the most challenging circumstances.

During our session, I had the chance to talk with Emily and Megan about their future. In five years, they envision a life filled with growth and new adventures. Both of them are passionate about traveling and creating lasting memories together. It’s clear that while they are focused on their individual growth, their commitment to each other as a couple remains strong.
