There’s just something so magical about a spring proposal at Middleton Place. The gardens are peaceful, the views are stunning, and the whole place feels like it was made for love stories.
On March 7th, 2022, Jacob planned the sweetest surprise proposal for his girlfriend, Chadee. He reached out to me a few weeks before with his idea — he knew exactly where he wanted to ask her: the top of the hill between the butterfly lakes. It’s one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots at Middleton Place, with the gardens and water all around.
That March morning turned out to be absolutely perfect. The sun was shining, everything was in bloom, and Jacob got down on one knee while Chadee was completely surprised! After the big moment, we spent some time walking around the gardens and capturing their just-engaged glow.
Middleton Place in spring is truly breathtaking — Spanish moss, azaleas, dreamy pathways — it was the perfect backdrop for their story.
And the best part? Later on, they asked me to be their wedding photographer too! It’s always so special when I get to capture not just the proposal, but their next chapter too.
A Little More About Jacob & Chadee
How They Met
Jacob and Chadee have actually known each other since middle school — they grew up going to church together and have been friends for over 10 years! That strong friendship turned into love, and they’ve been together for three and a half years.
Their Future Plans
In five years, these two see themselves living in Greenville, SC, where they plan to build their dream home and start a family. Chadee will be finishing law school and working in employment law, while Jacob plans to continue his work in healthcare.
