Golf, oaks and an unforgettable Summerville wedding… It was a wonderful themed wedding at one of Charleston’s finest golf clubs ⎯ Summerville Country Club. This beautiful celebration took place on May 20, 2021. And the main characters of this event were two cheerful people, Cody and Caroline. They’ve been together for 15 months, and it all started with a meal together.
The couple had no problem deciding on a wedding venue. They chose Charleston because it was their home. Cody loved golf so a golf course was picked. Caroline loved the symbolism and strength of oaks, so the celebration happened under the oaks. The newlyweds combined and incorporated many wedding traditions into their wedding program, such as tying a cord of three strands on a board related to the Bible, throwing the bouquet, and the groom taking off the bride’s garter. The wedding ceremony took place under a tall branchy oak tree. It was decorated with white cloth and flowers. The sunbeams were gently streaming through the branches, creating great conditions for taking pictures. I managed to take some memorable photos.
Summerville Country Club is a very large area and we took wonderful pictures in many corners. The photos taken beside the water were especially memorable. The bride in a fabulous dress and the groom in an elegant suit stood by the pond. The trees and the kissing couple reflected in the water. It was like a mirror image. A gift from nature indeed. And of course, since Cody is into golf, we just couldn’t help but take pictures with brassie. We took these photos when the sun was a little low so there were no blurring or unnecessary shadows in the frame.
For me, as a Summerville wedding photographer, it was very easy and comfortable to work with Cody and Caroline. After the ceremony guests and the newlyweds moved to the outdoor tent. The ceiling was decorated with bulbs, which gave good light for taking pictures. Creating a new and loving family is always very touching and exciting. Even though I’ve probably lost count of how many weddings I’ve photographed, I’m always genuinely happy for the couple. And being a wedding photographer at Summerville Country Club for Cody and Caroline was a great pleasure for me.
