I had the pleasure of photographing Erin and Mitchell’s engagement session in I’On, one of the most picturesque spots in Mount Pleasant. As an engagement photographer based in Charleston, I always look for locations that offer a blend of beauty, history, and charm—qualities that perfectly match I’On and this wonderful couple’s story.
At that time Erin and Mitchell have been together for three years, and their connection is unmistakable. What makes their session particularly special is the deep significance this neighborhood holds for them. When everything shut down during the pandemic, they would walk and bike through I’On several times a week, falling in love with the charm of the houses and the serenity of the surrounding areas. Since both lived in Mount Pleasant when they first started dating, it was a natural choice to return to this meaningful place for their engagement photos.
We began our session in the heart of I’On, where the beautiful homes and peaceful streets provided a perfect backdrop. Erin and Mitchell’s joy and love for each other shone through every shot. Their ease in front of the camera and the way they brought out the best in one another made for truly memorable photos. Whether laughing together or sharing quiet, intimate moments, their chemistry was undeniable.
Mitchell’s devotion to Erin is evident in the way he speaks about her. He describes Erin as hardworking, kind, loving, and always full of positive energy. She is the person who brings joy to his every day, and he sees her as his best friend and life partner. Erin, in turn, admires Mitchell’s selflessness, support, and ability to make her feel like the only girl in the world. Their mutual love and respect were clear in every interaction, making my job as their photographer feel effortless.
I also had the privilege of capturing their wedding at the Creek Club at I’On. The combination of indoor and outdoor spaces, with stunning views of the water, added even more depth and variety to their photos. This venue, with its peaceful ambiance and scenic backdrop, perfectly complemented Erin and Mitchell’s personalities and their shared vision for their future.
In five years, Erin and Mitchell see themselves still residing in Charleston and starting a family. Their love story is one built on a foundation of friendship, shared experiences, and a deep connection that will undoubtedly continue to grow.
If you’re considering a Mount Pleasant engagement session, I’On offers an incredible blend of beauty and sentimental value, making it the perfect location for couples looking to capture timeless moments. At Charleston Photo Art, my goal is to create images that reflect your unique love story, and Erin and Mitchell’s session is a perfect example of how a meaningful location can enhance the magic of an engagement session.
