One more adorable couple, one more breathtaking place and here goes a masterpiece. This time I met Alyssa and Ben, who decided to make their engagement photography in Middleton Place. Middleton place in Charleston is famous for its delicate beauty, amazing nature and breathtaking scenery. Its wonderwul atmosphere absorbs you from the first second you step on its ground. It is surely the place for a perfect engagement photo session.
Sunny Charleston weather, love in the air and camera lens – these are the recipe for an unforgettable photo shoot. Sculpted terraces, century old trees, and reflection pools inhabited by swans… Alyssa and Ben fit perfectly into this magical natural beauty.
The Alyssa and Ben’s first meeting was in 2017. “Ben and I actually met on a mountain trip we were taking with mutual friends in Dandridge, TN in October 2017! There were honestly more than 20 people in the house and I knew of Ben, but never met him! It didn’t take long for us to become close, especially since we shared the same friend group,” – remembers Alyssa.
The couple had perhaps one of the most romantic first dates. “I will never forget Ben taking us on our first date. He took us out to YMCA Camp Cherokee, where he spent many years being a camp counselor. He set up an Eno, took off my tennis shoes for me, and sat with me to watch the sunset in front of a waterfall. We spent hours talking about who we are, what we want in a relationship, and what our future could look like. It was so special! I would re-live that night over and over if I could. I remember Ben making me laugh and me being my true self the whole way. I felt an overwhelming feeling on the ride home that I was going to marry him!”
Ben together with his mother and Alyssa’s relatives and friends organized a secret engagement. They all worked hard to keep the secret from Alyssa and assure her the proposal wasn’t going to happen that weekend he proposed… In this way unaware Alyssa became one of the happiest women in the world with one of the most unusual engagement ring! Believe it or not, it is a lab grown diamond from Reeds Iconic collection!
“I love that she is happy and that she takes care of me; she always knows what I need, even when I don’t. Alyssa is the best!” – that’s how Ben describes his beloved one.
The photo session was a great fun. We laughed the whole time and genuinely didn’t know how fast the time passed. Happy faces of Alyssa and Ben became the main highlight of this photo shoot.
